STREET!

Runcorn is Street its as simple as.

There are endless rails of all shapes size steepness and length just need sum creativity! There are plenty of ledges and benches etc that u find anywhere in the world and then some slightly wierder street obstacles for instance steel balls about 2ft in diameter that andy does downside whip fastplants on up in Trident park a local retail and leisure park.

Trident is again jam packed with stereotypical urban street obstacles and security...not good, as Millsy will tell you!

Another for example would be the supper tight tranny walls in Hallwood park with metal fences that act as little mini sub railings.

A local school called St. Chad's also is a frequent street spot that we hit with its two long banks 1 small and 1 large, some rails and steps, aswell as some bank to sub an hip lines.

Not far away are the station banks, outside the local nick and law courts these 2ft high flat banks made of paving slabs to create flower beds have great ledges and hips with endless number of possibilities, however never a single security guard in sight and no complaints even from passing lawyers and police! lol! A guaranteed good sesion!

PARK!

Several local parks that we ride include the UKs first all skatelite (skateshite?) park in Victoria park, Widnes; typical public park with a mini, box jump, banks and hips with a decent size qter aswell. Another would be the all new cement park in Victoria Park, Warrington; smooth deep concrete bowls with endless lines and gaps with some rather sketchy banks that are super harsh! Both of these parks are now floodlit for any dry night sessions that we can squeeze in this winter! WOO!

Our (not-so)local indoor park is the imfamous Rampworx Mk2 in Aintree, Liverpool.  Liverpool is about a 30 minute drive from Runcorn and bout an hour by train.  The park is fantastic with the curved wall and new box jump, along with all the other ramps! We aren't gonna do this place justice so check out www.rampworx.com

THE TRAILS

Our local trails are some off the oldest trails that I've ever ridden.  Around since the late eighties/early ninetys these trails were apparently originally built by the norther street shredder Mike Taylor, and back in the day riders included Ali Whitton, Owain Clegg, Mad John Taylor just to name a few.  As you can imagine these are the real deal trails and there are plenty of them.  After suffering a drop in trail riding between '95 and 2000 the condition of the jumps fell dramatically and we have since been working to resurect the BWL!  Improvements for this year planned include a foam pit and a resi jump (a fast steep lip with a very mellow landing with a matress buried beneath earth and a sheet of ply so that it is still possible to ride away) along with a 25ft gap which we intend to build! Roll on Summer 2004!
